Privacy Policy

1 Waitlist information

Before the app launched in your area, joining the waitlist collects:

• For everyone: first and last name, email address, phone number, and city or town in Massachusetts.
• For contractors only: your primary trade and MA HIC registration number (optional).

This is used only to notify you when BlueJobz launches, as described below. If you provide an HIC number, it's checked against the publicly available Massachusetts OCABR registry — no private records are accessed. By joining the waitlist you consent to a confirmation email, a launch notification email, one launch SMS (reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help), and a push notification if you already have the app installed at launch. After launch notifications are sent, you'll only hear from us further if you create an account and opt in through the app.

2 Information the apps collect

Account and profile: name, email, phone number, and — for contractors — business/trade information, service address, and optionally a contractor license (HIC) number with a photo or PDF of the license document, stored to verify registration. For homeowners, property details (home type, year built, square footage) and an optional alternate/emergency contact (name, relationship, phone, email) and access notes (e.g. pet or entry instructions).

Location: the apps do not access your device's GPS. We geocode the address you type — converting it to approximate coordinates — to match contractors and homeowners by distance. Homeowners control what location detail (exact address, city only, or hidden) is visible to contractors via in-app privacy settings.

Photos and messages: profile photos, project photos, and messages (including image attachments) you send through in-app messaging. These are stored to display them to you and to the other party in the conversation.

Payments and subscriptions (contractors only): subscription tier, billing cycle, and payment history (amounts and dates, never full card numbers). Payments are processed by Stripe, or by Apple's or Google's in-app purchase systems when you subscribe from within the app on iOS or Android.

Push notification tokens and diagnostics: a device push token if you enable notifications, and crash/error diagnostics via Sentry to help us fix bugs — diagnostic reports may include device type and app state, never your messages or photos.

3 How we use this information

To operate the BlueJobz marketplace: matching contractors and homeowners, displaying profiles and ratings, processing quotes and project workflows, processing subscription payments, sending job/message/quote notifications, verifying contractor licenses where provided, and improving the app. We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to data brokers.

4 How we will contact you

Waitlist members receive the confirmation, launch, and one-time SMS/push messages described in Section 1. App users receive notifications you've enabled in Settings — job matches, messages, quotes, and account/billing updates. Reply STOP to any SMS, or use each email's unsubscribe link, to opt out at any time.

5 Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Within the app, your public profile is visible to the other side of the marketplace (contractors see homeowner job posts and vice versa), and messages/photos are visible only to the specific person you're messaging. We share data with the following service providers, strictly to operate BlueJobz:

• Supabase — database storage (supabase.com)
• Resend — transactional email delivery (resend.com)
• Twilio — SMS delivery (twilio.com)
• Expo — push notification delivery (expo.dev)
• Sentry — crash and error diagnostics (sentry.io)
• Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com)
• Apple and Google — in-app purchase processing for subscriptions purchased on iOS or Android

Each provider is contractually required to protect your data and is prohibited from using it for their own purposes.

6 How we store and protect your data

Your information is stored in Supabase, a SOC 2 Type II certified cloud database provider hosted on AWS infrastructure in the United States. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Access is restricted to BlueJobz personnel and protected by row-level security policies that prevent unauthorized reads. We maintain a Written Information Security Program (WISP) in compliance with Massachusetts 201 CMR 17.00.

7 Data retention

Waitlist information is retained for as long as necessary to deliver launch notifications, and up to 12 months thereafter for follow-up inquiries. App account information is retained for as long as your account is active. In both cases, if you request deletion before that period ends, we remove your record within 10 business days.

8 Your rights and how to opt out

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your information at any time.

• Email: Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
• SMS: Reply STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE to any text — removal is instant and automatic.
• Data access or deletion: email bluejobz2025@gmail.com. We'll complete requests within 10 business days.

Massachusetts residents have additional rights under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 93H, including the right to know what personal data we hold and to request its correction or deletion.

9 Children's privacy

BlueJobz is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as BlueJobz evolves. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date, and — for waitlist members and app users — communicated by email before they take effect. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
